Facing south, using the Hawwww sound, as you exhale visualize breathing out dirty Qi and red energy from the lungs, breathing in, draw in clouds of healing red energy and visualize the body becoming beautiful red jade.

Herbs for Summer

Health problems from hot weather can be aggravated by eating too much meat, greasy fried, spicy foods and alcohol.
Green Teas are drunk to help stay cool in summer and help cool the body they are soothing and clean tasting. One of the best green teas is Long Jing or Dragon Well Tea. Also MInt tea (Bo He) is very cooling.

Cooling foods

Xi Gua  – Watermelon cools the body & nourishes fluids
Mung Bean – very cooling
Cucumber cools the skin use internally and externally

Cool off in hot weather with cooling foods like fruits and vegetables. Drink lot’s of fluids.
Some foods that are harmonious with early summer include:
apricot, beet, bitter melon, black coffee, broccoli, celery, coffee, cucumber, dark, unsweetened chocolate, escarole, ginger, job’s tears, lettuces such as boston, chicory, endive & romaine, lemon balm, loquat, lotus root, lotus seed, mulberries, mung bean, okra, peach, peppermint, persimmons, pumpkin, radishes, red lentils, red peppers, red plums, rhubarb, soy beans, spinach, strawberry, summer squashes, tamarind, teas, tomato, water chestnuts, watermelon, Chinese yam, zucchini, and others.
